"one"?? — yes.
it is the other 49 or so who lose.

One can. Some do. The vast majority don't. Trading currencies and options on currencies is extremely complex and risky.
It's an interesting field, certainly. It requires the most extreme knowledge of current events, geopolitics, advanced economics, and very acuracy in predicting the future.
Most people lose their investments in forex.
"Currency trading "has become the fraud du jour," according to Michael Dunn of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. [1] But "the market has long been plagued by swindlers preying on the gullible," according to the New York Times [2]. "The average individual foreign-exchange-trading victim loses about $15,000, according to CFTC records" according to The Wall Street Journal. [3]. The North American Securities Administrators Association says that "off-exchange forex trading by retail investors is at best extremely risky, and at worst, outright fraud." [4]"
For one example of the unscrupulous preying on the ignorant, see the post after this one.

Oh yes you can definitely make a serious living with Forex trading
It's not easy though… most retail traders lose money on the overall.

ok right, forex trading is very risky. this is because of the very volatile market that no one can really predict the outcome of the currency pair being traded. as always the case, in whatever business you venture into, there is no assurance that you will always win, sometimes you lose, sometimes you gain. in forex you need to have a strong knowledge of the market before you join in.
