Any bank is likely the best place to exchange currency.

Badger 12 is right, in our many trips through Cananda, our best exchange rate was obtained at the bank, and current.
In fact, while waiting in line in one bank, I gained almost a hundred dollars on a thousand dollar exchange. This rate was shown an a screen in back of the teller, amazing !

Vancouver Bullion Exchange. A little place on Granville and West Broadway…south east corner…mid-way down the block. Up some stairs…next to a pizza place and a walk-in clinic.

Yup, I agree. Go to your bank. They won't charge you commission.
