My wife has currency from the pre-euro time period. Currency from:
France
Denmark
Netherlands
Scotland
England
Does anyone know how to exchange it to USD? The bank wont do it because its not used anymore. Or does anyone know who would purchase it?

i.e. If i save 1000 Euro on my account of Bank of America, does amount contribute to US's foreign reserve? Or if i save 1000USD at a Chinese bank in China, does that contribute to China's foreign reserve?

I understand you point, but here is the new question.
I do know in China, you can open a USD account without converting your USD to RMB. But it will still not count towards its foreign reserve, right?
And if i save my EUR at a safe deposit box, isn't that same as a checking account but not in USD? Commercial banks should put reserves at central bank (certain % set by central bank) for all the savings they get. Then in that sense, shouldn't cental bank also get a portion of savings in foreign currency because of the foreign currency savings at all commerical banks? If so, should that foreign currency reserves be count towars the country's foreign reserve?

If you basically own the foreign stock and it is denominated in the home currency as ADR, how are you exposed to currency risk? You don't have to exchange money back to your home currency. I don't get it.
My flight will arrive past 12 midnight via budget carrier. I need to change US$ into SG$. Does Changi Airport have a foreign currency exchange counter or bank? Do they operate 24 hours a day or at least operate up to 1am?
