Sometimes in retail stores and fast food places in the United States, when I hand the register operator a twenty dollar bill, they will take a black marking pen and draw a line or check mark on the bill. Why do they do that?

What if US come up with their own currency manipulation* against China..??
For example, if Chinese has set value of 1 USD = 7.09 RMB…. now if US gov set higher rate for RMB say 1 USD = 7 RMB or may be 1 USD = 5 RMB what will happen ???
For how long they(Chinese) can allow individuals/financial intuition/ smugglers/ criminals/ or who ever can get hold of Chinese currency to sell it to US government at some very good profit and almost no risk.

Also, I didn’t ask this question to Hillary because she complained that she always gets first question.
