Hit by a free fall with no end in sight, the once mighty U.S. dollar is no longer just crashing on currency markets and making life more expensive for American tourists and business people abroad; its clout is evaporating worldwide as foreign businesses and individuals turn to other currencies.
Experts say the bleak U.S. economic forecast means it will take years for the greenback to recover its value and prestige.

Craig B (below) Other than wheat, weapons, and jobs, what exactly do you think the US exports?
Dan W (below) Come out od denial. Bush's and the GOP's $4 TRILLION borrow and spend policies have caused the dollar to tank. Anyone who isn't biased knows this to be true. Coupled with his failed war strategy Bush has wreaked much damage upon these shores.
Dan W (below) ???? I didn't report you nor anyone else here. What are you talking about? I don't agree with your logic by any stretch. This does not mean that I go around reporting people just because they may have reported me.
Nice frameup though. You did that as well as Bush framed iraq for an invasion.

Isn't either of these being bid up by large speculators that can pull the rug out from under it any time they want enough to cause a panic and greater decline?

How is the British currency used?
How many pence are there in one pound? What is one shilling? What is also one quarter?
I guess where I am from, I only know dollars and cents.
