My question is: Is the Euro currency backed by the gold standard? 2nd question: Why did the US remove its currency from the gold standard in the 70's, and does the US government have any plans to restore it to the gold standard, as a means of reinforceing its value and confidence in the world market?

i'm going to england over the summer and would like to know how much money to bring.
also regardless of the exchange rate are things in england "cheaper" than things in the US?
like a shirt in america costs $10, but in england it would cost $5
I'm taking world history at my high school, English is one of my ethnicities, and I'm going to England for a few days just to go shopping and sight seeing before I go to Ireland.
So I'm pretty aware of England's culture and pretty sure that I want to go there.

I know his dollar coin was released in 2007, and you can see him on the back of a $2 bill, but has he appeared on any other official U.S. coins or bills, past or present?

so ive seen alot of things and charts ranging from 1932 through 1982 which shows the dinar between just under $5 and just under $3 per dinar. the dinar is now worth only $0.0007. you can buy 1 million dinar for $500 american. Even if the dinar climbed in value to just one cent, that would be 1,329% return! Surely its going to go up at least a penny.
has anyone invested in this? and do you think its worth the risk?
im thinking it is something worth while

I trade stocks regularly but was wondering if anyone found Forex more appealing than trading the DOW, NYSE or NASDAQ? Also, has anyone profited more than they thought they would? Please no answers trying to sell me your proven methods. Thanks.
Poloman1690, thank you for your honest answer and the link.
