Its all yes. I had exchanged many foreign currencies in HK before and many of them is no problem. Its normal, especially you are from Japan or coming from Japan. You can exchanged at airport definitely and they are glad to exchange you to HK Dollar. But is better you go outside of airport, cause the rates are better than airport inside.

yup it's v normal. u can walk into any banks & they wil exchange it 4 u rite away. but their wil be a bit handling charge like aro HK$30-50. but if u r their customer w/ a valid account there. it's use to be free. so last time when my frd came fr Yokohama, i went to the bank w/ her n show my account. she got free handling charge to exchange Yen.
in our banks, exchange rate is almost the same & fair. dun change at the airport as their rates horrible. but if u 1st arv HK & w/o any HK currency…. at the same time, u hv to taxi or train to the city. maybe u should exchange a bit there 4 just 1 shot use…….ok?
welcome to HK!!
