I'm attemping to buy some items off the internet, but, the prices are in £. I Don't know what that means. The items are £69.95 and £49.95. I do have a conversion site, but I need to know what the £ stands for. I would love the conversion, but only need what the £ stands for. Thank You.

The spot rate for the Swiss Franc has been around 1 to 1.05 francs to every dollar in the past few months, according to Yahoo Finance. When I ask a local Forex dealer to exchange dollar for Swiss Francs, they want $305 for 300 Francs which is quite far from the spot rate (and doesn't include the service fee.)
I've consulted quite a few dealers and they all want more than $1 for 1 Franc. I've only looked at dealers and banks in the US.. I'd rather have a few hundred Francs in emergency cash when I arrive in Switzerland to avoid paying the ripoff rates at the airport.
Even though $1 is worth more than 1 Franc, I'm still happy if I can get an effective exchange rate (after fees and royalties) of 1 to 1. Is this possible or am I not looking in the right places?

Right now 1 Swiss Franc = 32.85 Thai Baht
if I change it in a bank.
But in small Exchange places the currency rates are more profitable.
My question is : what is the exact currency rate for Swiss Francs in those small Exchange places right now in Thailand ??
Thanks in advanced
Please note that I do not care about the bank currency rates. (I could look for it by myself online). I want to know the currency rates for the SMALL EXCHANGE PLACES.
Sorry for my English
Thank you

I am new to Forex trading but am familiar with other forms of trading ,I would like to try the Forex with a fixed sum of money ( a set bank) which I can deposit in my trading account and know this will never be passed.
Is there a broker who would offer such a facility or is there any other way?
I know I can use a stop loss but these can be passed.
Thanks
