Whatever you do, don't go for the bells and whistles that you see so much nowadays. Don't spend money on a thousand dollar charting platform, or "special" indicators that are supposed to tell you when to buy or sell, because that isn't learning how to trade. Those are the mistakes that I made when I first started out, and its the same mistake that so many new traders make.

I'll suggest what I did. Get yourself a demo account with any Metatrade broker. Pull up a bar chart, don't put any indicators on it, and just follow the price. It may not happen overnight, but eventually, you will start to notice patterns developing, in which you can use to predict future price movement. It's a strategy as old ad the market itself, and will never go out of style.
