They also had had Roman currencies which their were for most that time 3 of, and as many as five, The Romans had a medal 3 medal market based currencies that were controlled in price by taxes on items made of them, and tax exchanges of them that reduced their size. The  aureus was (gold), the denarius was (silver), the sestertius was (bronze), the dupondius was also (bronze). The reform of Diocletian which created denominations such as the argenteus (silver) and the follis (silvered bronze). After the reforms Roman coinage consisted mainly of the gold solidus and small bronze denominations.</description>
