They would stop using the "This is a christian nation" excuse
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
Christians would complain for about ten years, then no one would care.

I, for one, would be happy. Overall I don't think it would have an impact.
Edit- I take it Christians who think God should be referenced to on money haven't really read what Christ said about money…

Well it might be more honest as we really don't trust HIim anymore as a nation.

None. It should be removed because we are supposed to have a separation of church and state.

A return to equilibrium.
The references to God on currency and in the Pledge of Alliegance was added in the 50s (1956, I think). The same time as the McCarthy witch hunts.

People would Boycott currency and Christians would begin trading Necco wafers instead.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
It would lose its value.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
would it matter? …. no
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
The christians would whine more than normal.
That's it.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
Uh.. Christians would complain a lot. Maybe boycotts. Protests. I think it would impact the country a lot.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
The phrase was put onto currency in the 1950's as a slap in the face to "Those Godless Communists" It would have absolutely no effect on our currency
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
Christians would take to the streets screaming that the end times were coming.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
I would be happy, for one thing. But overall, no difference in society.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
The impact is already showing because they are taking out God from the money already…..A greedy American country….
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
It wouldn't be good. It would be another step closer to finally remove God completely from this country which means all hell is going to break loose.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
Conservative radio and TV chickenhawks would have cardiac arrest
Technically, such a motto is unconstitutional.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
If you can't see what the constant removing of God is doing to america then you are not paying attention.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
liberals will have officially taken over and we're all f*cked.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
There will be many disgruntled theists for a while.
But, hey, who cares?
And, I agree with the answerer above me. That kind of writing is actually unconstitutional. It violates the First Amendment.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
there would be no point to remove it in the first place /people who complain about that should find somthing else to worry about/
yea alot of people would be upset if this happened
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
It might gain more value?
Seriously - there would be lots of bawww and hurrr as the idiots of the nation claim it's part of our heritage. Then, once they got over it, there'd be no impact.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
The God Yahweh who America refers to in that motto would allow America to fall to its' enemies for such a blatant act of blasphemy against Him.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
No one would notice because no one's making any money anyway.
But seriously, do people even use cash anymore? Maybe this discussion will soon become irrelevant.

What God and does anyone know the difference.
Some time ago were plans made to do as such. Newer like notes that had a portion blank were planned. and photocopied and printed in a book as leaks of a future currency . Even during the revised EU or Former Roman empire have been reformed with anti Chjrist virtues.
Would Mennorah, ark of the covenant, star of David or the like , offend Americans or give them inspirtaion , assurance and wholeness.
Is the rise of Egypt and the American dollar have some coincidence.
Why not a masonic sheepskin apron for some and the inscriptions thereof. Or the union Jack .

Here's the real question,
how does "in God we trust" on a dollar bill affect our day to day life in a meaningful way ?
This is just making a mountain of a mole hill.
Despite what some may want to believe, atheists are NOT the majority of USA citizens, so as such there will be a slight amalgamation of church and state.
We should jsut be thankful that our country isn't entirely run by religion like those muslim nations.
It is BECAUSE of the diversity of America that the Christian slight in the law is… not too bothersome.
If the majority of the country were Jewishm, then there would probably well be a similar jewish statement on the bill.
Its not so much the leaders trying to insult atheist, its just that, when you, your friend, your family, collegues, and suporters are Christian, then adding "in God we trust" to the dollar bill doesn't seem like a bad idea.
The Christian slant is merely a reflaction of the nations demographics.
Separation of church and state will only occur if those demographics change.

.
And how long would it take for the common Joe-on-the-street to even notice, unless it were pointed out to him?
Seriously, how much cash do you ordinarily carry?
Or do you use mostly plastic??

It would be one more thing that shows the decline of our nation. What ever happened to getting pregnant after marriage? Or just having sex with your spouse.
This has been on the money from day one. Doesn't that fact mean anything to anybody! Does the statue of liberty mean anything to anybody. Maybe we should get rid of that too. It's not important anymore. What else can we get rid of. Doesn't our history mean anything!
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
None. Money would still spend the same if it had Mr. Ed the talking horse on it. Heck, I'm religious, and I think this is the biggest non-issue ever!
