A Canadian bank can issue a money order or cashiers cheque in just about any foreign currancy. I've done it many times with US funds, UK funds and Indian funds. It only costs a few bucks and the exchange rate on the date the money order or cashiers cheque is issued is what is used to calculate the transaction.

If anyone requests the info above from you, if it was me, I'd be seeing all sorts of red flags and would either insist on a safer transaction or cancel it all together.

That is a well known scam floating around on Craiglist and Kijiji. Don't send them any information, but please do forward their email, and IP address to the RCMP Fraud Unit. The more people report, the better the chance at catching these scam artists.
