I'll be traveling to Ireland next week and I thought about withdrawing currency from the bank, What would be a good amount to take with as cash?

Depends how long you are staying here and where? Around 100 Euro per day will cover the cost of a B&B outside the major cities, evening meal and a little shopping or a sightseeing tour maybe but if you are staying in an upmarket hotel and have extravagent tastes you could add another 50-70 Euros per day on quite easily.

Have you told your bank in your own country that you're travelling to Ireland? Check with them that your ATM card can be used at banks in Ireland, it's usually standard now in Europe, but you don't say where you're from.
Have no more than 300 Euro in cash on you at all times.
