The countries say they don't want to return to protection but money printing and debasing the currency is just another way you make your exports more competative relative to others in another currency, thereby making theirs more uncompetative. This will become an arms race to the bottom as all countries race to debase.

You have a very easy way to stay harmless of the "paper money game" - buy bullion, gold and/or silver. And leave the governments with their paper money that is backed up only by paper.
Within less than a year junk silver coins have been wiped out from the market, because they are relatively cheap and have real silver.
