Are currency conversions the amount of money you get when you go to a currency converting store window?

I’m going on vacation to Poland and was wondering if $100.00 would be 310 zloty when i go convert because online it says that the rate is 1 US dollar to 3.1 PL.?? plz help. 10 points.

  1. Yeah, that’s how it works. Keep in mind that most converters also charge a service fee, can be either a percentage of the transaction or a flat rate. And not everyone gives you the same rates, so if you’re somewhere with several options and some time it doesn’t hurt to shop around.

    Currency converters give you a good idea of your exchange rate… and you’ve got it right. But keep in mind most of those converter have the "best bank rate" and the actual exchange rate you get will probably be less favorable but a couple of dollars… and that there will be an exchange fee… you can’t get away from those.
