Discussion of Forex Trading and Currency Trading

Reputable Forex investment company?

August 22nd, 2009 stanley

I am US based. I am looking for a company that will invest my money for me, not long term, but shorter term for income purposes as opposed to growth purposes. Any suggestions on such a company? Surely they exist, I assume they work by getting a portion of whatever they make off the investments they make for their clients…

How do you trade currency?

August 22nd, 2009 stanley

Is trading currency the same as buying/selling of stocks?

As for stocks, for instance, if you buy a share for $2. If the value of the share rises to $3, and then you sell it immediately, earning a $1 profit.

What about trading currency? How do you do it? Sorry, I’m having currency problems because it puzzles me in terms of… for instance trade the Australia currency for US Dollar and then trade back again for profit.

Please show me an example. Thanks.

Is there a website where I can see a HISTORY of currency conversion rates?

August 22nd, 2009 stanley

I’m looking for conversion rates from Euros to Canadian dollars, but I want a history of rates, like for the last few weeks or months, not just today’s rate or the last 3 days.

Thank you!

Forex Trading - What in the world is going on?

August 22nd, 2009 stanley

I am new(er) to Forex and started paper trading the Forex markets with some success… so no complaints there…. HOWEVER, I have noticed that my broker will NOT fill my order until the ASK price gets to the price I wanted… this is very different than other markets it seems. Why can’t I get filled if I am at the bid and the bid gets pushed lower? If I am at 1.4105 and then the Bid drops to 1.4103 then I should be filled… but that isnt happening… can someone explain why?
I understand that I get filled at the ask and at the bid like the stock market… the problem I seem to be having is that let’s say i am at the bid of 1.4105 on the EURUSD… then the bid drops to 1.4103… how come I am not filled?

In the stock market the bid can not drop or the ask can not rise until everyone at that level has had their orders filled… Forex seems to be different…

Anyone use FAP Turbo Forex robot?

August 22nd, 2009 stanley

Is there anyone here who uses FAP Turbo and how does it work for you? Does it work fairly well or is it just a scam? Need objective answers please. I set up the system on my computer and it did not make any trades during a period of about 7 hours. I expected it to execute at least 1 trade. Does it not work?

Money Currency Question.?

August 21st, 2009 stanley

Let me try to explain it best way possible.

Is it true that 1 American dollar (USD) is worth 95 Dollars in Japanese Yen?

Can i give the person at the currency exchange kiosk in Tokyo 1$ And he/she gives me 95 (or how ever much money i get) Dollars in Japanese Money/Yen?

Can it work like that?

For example,
I want to buy a guitar out in Tokyo that says "3000 Yen" And that would only be like 31 american dollars?

Does it work that way?
If not, then how does the whole currency exhange work?

Hypothetically, what country’s currency would be easiest to counterfeit?

How much leverage should I be using when trading Forex?

August 21st, 2009 stanley

I am going to be 18 in a few weeks. My brothers set me up a forex trading practice account a fair while ago now, and I have been playing around with it, trying different ways to make money and what I’ve discovered is that by using 1:100 leverage in each trade is really not a healthy habbit and along with that using the suggested stop-losses and take-profits, all because I’ve been consistently losing money that way. I have, however, been using 1:25 leverage and have been setting stop-losses using all of my trading capitals value and by not being greedy, have been taking in enough profit to get 10% return on my trading capital and so far I’ve discovered, this actually has worked everytime I do this.

What I’d like to know is whats the best amount of leverage I should really be using, and the stop-losses I should I set up to minimise all potential losses and make consistent profits?
