Being a complete computer nut, the idea of using a computer to evaluate current trends in real time and have it indicate the optimum buy and sell points, really makes sense to me.
If you have had any experiences with automated software in the forex or similar trading platforms your answer will be of great interest to me

I’m from Singapore.
I always compare my country’s currency rate against US$.
A week ago, it was: US$1 - S$1.45
This is good for me since I’m an internet marketer and my main business is in US.
But today.. it’s US$1 - S$1.32
It’s really scary… a year ago, it was US$1 - S$1.70.
That’s why I don’t get it.. why is the US currency rate falling when the DOW points are increasing?
If Inflation is the cause… then isn’t the DOW points just an imaginary caused by inflation?
Because inflation "pushes" the earnings up but NOT the value. This causes companies to publish balance sheet that SEEMS to be earning.
If the above is true, then all the companies together are publishing high profits but low value profits.. thus causing the DOW points to increase?
