Try going to Wikipedia and searching for "Euro"
Most of Europe is on a common currency called the Euro.

Well Wikipedia is the "easy to read" option and from what I have read, the info seems to be pretty accurate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro
A more official account can be found on this site http://europa.eu/abc/travel/money/index_en.htm and this page especially I think will really help you http://ec.europa.eu/economy_finance/the_euro/index_en.htm?cs_mid=2946 as it details who is part of the Euro, who manages it, why it was implemented & why it makes sense
Hope this helps :0)
