…it seems Europe is well on the way to adopting the Euro, and now there are reports that Asian countries are looking into adopting a single Asian currency, so I wonder if this trend will eventually lead to a single, global currency. Would it be a good thing or a bad thing? What are your opinions?

It has to happen eventually. There are limited resources on this planet, and there is no logical reason why some groups of people deserve more than others. It likely will not happen for a long time, and probably after a multitude of wars; bit, once the dust settles and equality reigns, the only option will be a universal global currency.
