It can be fast gain or loss. I knew a forex trader, and he told me that the only ones who make money on this is people who work with large sums of money like say 100,000,000. Its because of the small gains and there is a margin you have to worry about. If it goes down a little to much then you may have passed your margin and they will just sell it for you. Watch out.

unless you are already a successful trader in some other market — my advice is to learn to trade stocks first.
stocks are more forgiving of errors and new traders make lots of errors.

Forex trading is no doubt profittable. But make sure that you get the correct mentality before you enter. Its not as easy as it seems.
Nonetheless, with regards to your question, the below mentioned site belongs to 2 new traders. They have got various links for news traders too. And also do get some inspirations from them. Do learn about their experience and do not commit the same mistakes before you enter the market.

The best place to start is babypips.com They have a learning center there to help you with the basics. After that search for some good forex trading forums. Stay away from automated trading systems at first and make sure you trade on a demo account for a couple months.

You have to learn discipline! It takes many years to actually learn and understand the forex market. I use Oanda as my broker which have relatively low fees and excellent customer reviews. Also http://www.babypips.com helped me understand everything about forex starting off. I was told this is a decent strategy for trading. http://softwareforexreviews.blogspot.com/2009/10/forex-software-project.html#comments

I use ZuluTrade and make pretty good money. The main thing is Money Management, test out ZuluTrade with their demo mode until you find out what is profitable AND comfortable for you. With ZuluTrade you don’t have to study or monitor the market to make a good pick, because hundreds of industry well-known expert traders from all over the world are doing it for you. All you have to do is pick the experts you like, and ZuluTrade will quickly convert their advice into live trades in your trading account directly with the broker. And the best of all, it’s completely free. For more info go to their sign up page at their website http://www.setupaccount.zulutrade.com
