Not unless it’s in card form, with an internationally accepted logo (like Visa or Mastercard). You can exchange money in banks, airports, tourist bureaus and other places. However, the best rate is to use your card to make purchases or take out cash from an ATM. You’ll need to contact your bank/credit card company to find out rates and fees and inform them that you’ll be travelling so they don’t put a block on your card.

not likely, no. Especially since the US dollar is doing so bad there right now.
I know for a fact that just about any place in mexico will, but that’s because its worth more over there.
but europe ain’t gonna let it happen…

Only at shops in the major airports where you will not get a good exchange rate for US currency. In the Netherlands, you can purchase things with dollars in the shops in Schiphol airport, for example, but you would have to exchange your currency everywhere else. The least expensive way to get Euros is usually to withdraw money from an ATM. This is especially advantageous if your US Bank reimburses your account for ATM fees from other banks like mine does. However, you can minimize the fees by making fewer, larger withdrawals. Do not use a cash advance from a credit card, that’s much more expensive.
