		<description>Venice was known as the Republic of Venice and was a city-state. Not much is known other than the Venitian Lira was the common currency in Venice before Itally untited as a single country, and was replaced in 1807 by &#34;the Lira of Napoleon's Kingdom of Italy&#34;.
