I saw this ad for Forex where you can make $ by betting on currency going up or down.
Anyone used this service and method? does that make money or is it a scam?

The best way to go about trading Forex if you have a day job is to ask the Broker about their managed accounts, where a House trader does the trading on your account for a fee.

forex is not a scam, though, there are companies that scam potential traders. just be careful and don’t go into trading forex unless you have educated yourself about it. anyway, try to get into this site and download a free forex ebook and a free practice account as well. browse through the learning center to know more about forex. all the best.

unless you are a successful trader already in other financial products — run!.
Forex is one of the remaining "opportunities" in which bucket shops still exist. In a bucket shop, the trader’s orders aren’t actually executed — the house takes the other side of the trade because they know from experience that 98% of all new traders end up losing some, all, or more than all of their beginning capital.

It is not a scam but you will have to be a real sharp operator to make money at it. I imagine most people wind up loosing money. One wrong move and you can loose a bunch very fast.
