When a currency is dropping value, how do one make profit out of it? If i’m not mistaken, you could convert said currency to commodities or gold, but is there any other way to not just protect our assets but to maximize the profit?

You can sell it short (bet against it).
Or you can put it into gold or or silver, etc.

We stopped backing our dollar with matching gold in 1933. That’s why it’s worthless more and more. Not one gold backing since 1974.
