I’m a canadian with parents originating from Haiti. I’m a part-time student in economics and have a full-time job that allow me to keep up on the daily basis. I have a basic conception of the forex market, but I want to learn more from experienced people. So far, I have used a practice account at forex.com to help me understand a little bit more. I’ve also bought a book about the forex market at Chapters. I know forex is not something that can be learned overnight, but I am willing to learn it, and hopefully make it a second income or maybe a career. Please point me to the right direction, training, conference, seminar, workshop, anything that would really get me started.

Each day, millions of trades are made in a currency exchange market called Forex. The word "Forex" directly stems off of the beginning of two words - "foreign" and "exchange". Unlike other trading systems such as the stock market, Forex does not involve the trading of any goods, physical or representative. Instead, Forex operates through buying, selling, and trading between the currencies of various economies from around the world. Hope this is enough info about forex that you would like to know.

you may try check out your options in this site. it will lead you to a leading forex broker that provides personal mentoring or coaching, once you open any of their accounts- mini, gold, platinum or vip, through a dedicated personal account service manager or asm. the asm is an expert forex trader with years of experience in the field and can discuss anything you need to know about forex trading. discussions can be done live via phone, email, chat or even personal meeting if you happen to reside near any of its regional offices in the usa, canada, europe, uk, australia, middle east or asia. he can walk you through the basics and will even trade along with you, upon request, to make sure you get familiar with the system. all the best.

Subscribe to major forex sites via RSS ( free, do not pay), get a feel for market commentary, how, why and what the market looks at. Work on your own trading plan and trading style. (Vital) Put all your efforts into developing your own plan.
Avoid robots, holy grail systems, ‘forex is easy’ seminars. It isn’t. As you are also studying there should be further resources or tutors who could advise you first hand on how to develop your interest. Most investment firms will answer if you write to them politely to HR and say this is what i want to do, what do you advise.
You will pick up other bits as you go along. Learn and understand flights to safety, market movers, interest rates, why different pairs move in different ways. This will take time.
3 books to read market Wizard, High Probability trading, Reminiscences of a Stock operator.
The key is to have a plan that is totally devoid of emotion. The traders who last the course do not trade on emotion or on gut feel. They trade on their plan.
Good luck

To truly master forex trading, you have to understand how and why the market moves in such a manner. Instead of relying on indicators. All indicators are lagging indicators. Price action is the key.
It is only successful if you combine with other strategies eg. fibonacci, pivots, money management , trading psychology , stop loss, target profits etc.
If you ask me what is the most important, money management would be it.

Most people in forex lose money because they jump in with a game plan and they start making emotional trades that cost them a lot of cash. Tips to getting started.
1. Educate yourself: go through babypips.com/school/
2. Open a practice account with a broker
3. Practice and build a trading strategy
4. Don’t put real money into an account until your practice account is consistently making money
It took me a year to figure out how to make money in forex, I just refused to give up until I found a strategy that worked for me. Everyone has a different strategy so find out what works for you.
