Treasury: Can’t say China a forex manipulator
"The Obama administration declined to name China a currency manipulator on Friday, even though it said the yuan was "substantially undervalued," sparking fresh calls for legislative retaliation to try to reduce a swelling trade deficit.
"Treasury said China’s yuan should rise more quickly but said it lacked evidence to label Beijing a manipulator, a designation that could trigger trade action."
The Obama administration says they can’t find any evidence that China is manipulating their currency.
Is it really because they can’t? Or is it because they don’t WANT to?
Barry n Beavis, so are you saying that even if we do "find" proof, Obama and Geithner have set us up for an accusation of hypocrisy?
Ya, how clever of them…..
They are determined to demolish the USA.

I’m doing an essay and need to know how much 800 German guilds would be in US dollars. It has to be accurate, so don’t bluff.
If you can’t convert it to USD, could you convert it into something else that can convert into USD?

Hi,
I am planning to partner with a friend to launch a Forex investment Offshore Hedge Fund.
I would like to read some books about previous successful FOREX Hedge Funds so I can get a better understanding of what our risks, limitations and expectations might be.
What are the top Hedge Funds trading Forex? Besides Soros, which I would call more like a Macro Fund vs our investment techniques that are going to be short-term.
Thanks

When the Vicomte pays 30 francs for the music box at the beginning of the movie…can anyone tell me how much that would be in American dollars today? I mean, was that considered a lot of money, or just a reasonable amount, or…?
Thanks!

For example i know in forex you could buy 500000 euros with 2 percent in margin (10000 euros), now if the price of euros moved 2 percent down instead of up, you would lose all your money which is 10000 euros.
My question is, does the same thing happens in futures, because many people are buying crude oil futures contracts for example with expiration dates 2 years ahead of the time with 5-15 percent margin, isn’t that risky because crude oil prices could easily fall 5-15 percent in two years? Does a margin call happen here like in forex? In general are there any differences?
