i have some stuff to buy that, apparently, isnt available in the U.S., and only available to buy online in euros. if i buy it with my debit/credit card, can the money i use be converted into euros to buy it or will i have to convert the cash to euros, put it back in my account, and then buy what i'm looking for?

For example in 1990, Japanese yen is 257 and US dollar is 1.79 which one is the biggest? is it Yen? Because 257 is a higher number than 1.79. Thanks
